Installing the PWA

tagd-ai is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that can be installed on your device for an app-like experience.

What is a PWA?​

A Progressive Web App:

  • Works like a native app
  • Installed from the browser
  • No app store required
  • Automatic updates
  • Works offline (limited)

Installing on iOS​

Safari (Required)​

iOS PWAs must be installed from Safari:

  1. Open Safari
  2. Go to tagd-ai.com
  3. Sign in to your account
  4. Tap the Share button (square with arrow)
  5. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  6. Edit the name if desired
  7. Tap Add

Finding the App​

  • Icon appears on your home screen
  • Find in Spotlight search
  • Works like a regular app

iOS Limitations​

  • Must use Safari to install
  • No push notifications (iOS limitation)
  • Storage may be cleared by system

Installing on Android​

Chrome​

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Go to tagd-ai.com
  3. Sign in to your account
  4. Tap the menu (three dots)
  5. Tap Add to Home screen
  6. Or tap the install banner if shown
  7. Tap Install

Samsung Browser​

  1. Open Samsung Internet
  2. Go to tagd-ai.com
  3. Tap menu → Add page to → Home screen

Other Browsers​

Most Android browsers support PWA install:

  • Look for "Add to Home Screen"
  • Or install prompt banner

Installing on Desktop​

Chrome​

  1. Go to tagd-ai.com
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar
  3. Or: Menu → Install tagd-ai
  4. Click Install

Edge​

  1. Go to tagd-ai.com
  2. Click the install icon
  3. Or: Menu → Apps → Install tagd-ai

Firefox​

Firefox supports PWAs via extensions or manual shortcuts.

After Installation​

Launching​

  • Tap the icon on home screen
  • App opens full screen
  • No browser UI visible

Signing In​

  • You may need to sign in again
  • Consider enabling "Stay signed in"
  • Use biometric lock if available

Updates​

  • Updates happen automatically
  • New version loads on next launch
  • No manual update needed

Push Notifications (Android)​

Enable push notifications:

  1. Open tagd-ai PWA
  2. Go to Settings → Notifications
  3. Toggle Push Notifications
  4. Allow when prompted

Offline Access​

Limited offline support:

  • View recently cached tags
  • Queue changes for sync
  • Full sync when online

Troubleshooting​

Install Option Not Showing​

iOS:

  • Must use Safari browser
  • Already installed? Check home screen
  • Try closing and reopening Safari

Android:

  • Clear browser cache
  • Ensure using supported browser
  • Site may need to be served over HTTPS

App Doesn't Update​

  1. Force close the app
  2. Clear app cache (if needed)
  3. Relaunch
  4. Pull to refresh

Lost Data After Install​

  • Sign in again after installation
  • Data syncs from server
  • Local cache may be empty initially

App Crashes​

  1. Force close and reopen
  2. Clear app data
  3. Reinstall from browser
  4. Report persistent issues

Removing the App​

iOS​

  1. Press and hold app icon
  2. Tap Remove App
  3. Confirm deletion

Android​

  1. Press and hold app icon
  2. Drag to Uninstall
  3. Or: Settings → Apps → tagd-ai → Uninstall

Desktop​

  1. Right-click app icon
  2. Select Uninstall
  3. Or via browser: Settings → Apps → Manage
