Generating QR Codes

Every tagd-ai tag automatically gets a unique QR code. This guide covers how to access, download, and share your QR codes.

Accessing Your QR Code

From the Tag Editor

  1. Open any tag
  2. Click the QR Code button in the toolbar
  3. Your QR code appears in a modal

From the Dashboard

  1. Hover over a tag in the dashboard
  2. Click the QR icon
  3. Quick access to download/copy

From Tag Settings

  1. Open the tag
  2. Click Settings
  3. Find QR Code section

QR Code Information

Each QR code encodes:

  • A URL to your tag: https://tagd-ai.com/XXXXXX
  • The 6-character short ID is unique to your tag

The QR code:

  • Never changes (even if you edit content)
  • Works forever (as long as tag exists)
  • Is unique across all of tagd-ai

Downloading QR Codes

PNG Format

Best for digital use and most printing:

  1. Click QR Code on your tag
  2. Click Download PNG
  3. Choose size:
    • Small (256px)
    • Medium (512px)
    • Large (1024px)
    • Custom size

SVG Format

Best for high-quality printing at any size:

  1. Click QR Code on your tag
  2. Click Download SVG
  3. Scalable to any size without quality loss

PDF Format

Ready for printing:

  1. Click QR Code on your tag
  2. Click Download PDF
  3. Choose paper size and layout

Copying and Sharing

Copy Image

  1. Click QR Code
  2. Click Copy Image
  3. Paste into documents, emails, design software
  1. Click QR Code
  2. Click Copy Link
  3. Share the URL directly

Share Options

  1. Click QR Code
  2. Click Share
  3. Choose:
    • Email
    • Message
    • AirDrop (iOS/Mac)
    • Other apps

QR Code Preview

Before downloading, verify:

  • Correct tag is shown
  • QR code scans properly
  • Content is what you expect

Test Scanning

  1. Open camera on your phone
  2. Point at the QR code on screen
  3. Verify it opens the correct tag

File Naming

Downloaded files are named:

  • tagd-[short-id]-[size].png
  • tagd-[short-id].svg
  • tagd-[short-id].pdf

Example: tagd-a7Bx9k-512.png

Quality Guidelines

Minimum Sizes

For reliable scanning:

Resolution

  • Print: Use SVG or PNG at 300 DPI minimum
  • Screen: 256px minimum for visibility
  • Large displays: SVG scales infinitely

Troubleshooting

QR Code Won't Generate

  • Refresh the page
  • Ensure you're signed in
  • Check internet connection

Downloaded File is Empty

  • Try a different browser
  • Disable ad blockers
  • Clear browser cache

QR Code Won't Scan

  • Increase the size
  • Check for damage/distortion
  • Ensure adequate contrast
  • Clean camera lens
