Learn how to scan tagd-ai QR codes and barcodes using your device.
Phone Camera

- Tap the notification banner that appears
- Tag opens in your browser
Requirements:

- Open the Camera app
- Point at the QR code
- Tap the link that appears
- Tag opens in your browser
Note: Some Android phones require Google Lens or a third-party app.

- Open Google Lens (or Google app)
- Point at the QR code
- Tap the link
- Tag opens in browser
tagd-ai Scanner
The tagd-ai app includes a built-in scanner with extra features.
Access the Scanner
- Open tagd-ai (app or website)
- Tap the Scan button (camera icon)
- Grant camera permission if prompted
- Point at QR code
Scanner Features
- Instant recognition - tagd-ai codes open immediately
- History - View previously scanned codes
- Flashlight - Toggle light for dark conditions
- Zoom - Pinch to zoom for small codes
Scan History
View codes you've scanned:
- Tap Scan → History
- See list of recent scans
- Tap to reopen any tag
- Clear history if needed
Barcode Scanning
tagd-ai can also scan barcodes linked to tags.
Linked Barcodes
If you've linked a barcode to a tag:
- Scan the barcode with tagd-ai scanner
- tagd-ai looks up the linked tag
- Tag content displays

Linking Barcodes
To link an existing barcode to a tag:
- Open your tag
- Click Settings → Linked Barcode
- Scan the barcode or enter manually
- Save

Optimal Scanning Conditions

Troubleshooting Scans
QR code won't focus:
- Move phone further away
- Clean camera lens
- Ensure adequate lighting
QR code recognized but won't open:
- Check internet connection
- Try different browser
- Verify the tag still exists
Wrong content appears:
- Verify you scanned the right code
- Clear browser cache
- Tag may have been updated
Offline Scanning
Some features work offline:

Previously viewed tags may be cached:
- Scan when offline
- Cached version displays
- Updates when online
Scan Queue
If offline:
- Scan stores locally
- When online, content loads

- Don't contain malicious content
- Are validated before display
Reporting Abuse
If a tagd-ai code leads to inappropriate content:
- Note the tag URL
