Scanning QR Codes

Learn how to scan tagd-ai QR codes and barcodes using your device.

Phone Camera​

iPhone​

  1. Open the Camera app
  2. Point at the QR code
  3. Tap the notification banner that appears
  4. Tag opens in your browser

Requirements:

  • iOS 11 or later
  • Camera app (built-in)
  • No additional apps needed

Android​

  1. Open the Camera app
  2. Point at the QR code
  3. Tap the link that appears
  4. Tag opens in your browser

Note: Some Android phones require Google Lens or a third-party app.

Google Lens​

  1. Open Google Lens (or Google app)
  2. Point at the QR code
  3. Tap the link
  4. Tag opens in browser

tagd-ai Scanner​

The tagd-ai app includes a built-in scanner with extra features.

Access the Scanner​

  1. Open tagd-ai (app or website)
  2. Tap the Scan button (camera icon)
  3. Grant camera permission if prompted
  4. Point at QR code

Scanner Features​

  • Instant recognition - tagd-ai codes open immediately
  • History - View previously scanned codes
  • Flashlight - Toggle light for dark conditions
  • Zoom - Pinch to zoom for small codes

Scan History​

View codes you've scanned:

  1. Tap Scan → History
  2. See list of recent scans
  3. Tap to reopen any tag
  4. Clear history if needed

Barcode Scanning​

tagd-ai can also scan barcodes linked to tags.

Linked Barcodes​

If you've linked a barcode to a tag:

  1. Scan the barcode with tagd-ai scanner
  2. tagd-ai looks up the linked tag
  3. Tag content displays

  • UPC-A / UPC-E
  • EAN-8 / EAN-13
  • Code 128 / Code 39
  • Data Matrix
  • PDF417

Linking Barcodes​

To link an existing barcode to a tag:

  1. Open your tag
  2. Click Settings → Linked Barcode
  3. Scan the barcode or enter manually
  4. Save

Troubleshooting Scans​

QR code won't focus:

  • Move phone further away
  • Clean camera lens
  • Ensure adequate lighting

QR code recognized but won't open:

  • Check internet connection
  • Try different browser
  • Verify the tag still exists

Wrong content appears:

  • Verify you scanned the right code
  • Clear browser cache
  • Tag may have been updated

Offline Scanning​

Some features work offline:

Cached Tags​

Previously viewed tags may be cached:

  1. Scan when offline
  2. Cached version displays
  3. Updates when online

Scan Queue​

If offline:

  1. Scan stores locally
  2. When online, content loads
  3. Check scan history

Security​

Safe Scanning​

Before scanning unknown codes:

  • Consider the source
  • Look at the URL before opening
  • Be cautious of suspicious links

tagd-ai Security​

tagd-ai codes:

  • Only contain URLs to tagd-ai.com
  • Don't contain malicious content
  • Are validated before display

Reporting Abuse​

If a tagd-ai code leads to inappropriate content:

  1. Note the tag URL
  2. Go to Help → Report Content
  3. Include the URL and description
