Usage Limits
Each tagd-ai plan has usage limits. Learn what they are and how to manage them.
Viewing Your Usage
Usage Dashboard
- Go to Account → Usage
- See current usage vs. limits:
- Tags created
- Storage used
- AI generations
- API calls
Visual Indicators
- Green: < 50% used
- Yellow: 50-80% used
- Orange: 80-95% used
- Red: > 95% or over limit
Tag Limits

What Counts as a Tag
Each of these counts as one tag:
- Standard tags you create
- Tags you claim
- Tags created via API
At Your Limit
When you hit your tag limit (Free plan):
- Cannot create new tags
- Existing tags still work
- Must delete or upgrade to create more
Exceeding After Downgrade
If you downgrade and have more than 10 tags:
- All tags remain accessible
- Cannot create new tags
- Delete tags to get under limit, or
- Upgrade back to Pro

Checking Storage Usage
- Go to Account → Usage
- View Storage section
- See breakdown by:
- Total used / limit
- Per-tag usage
- Largest files
At Your Limit
When storage is full:
- Cannot upload new files
- Existing content remains
- Options:
- Delete files
- Upgrade plan
- Purchase add-on storage
Managing Storage
Find Large Files
- Go to Settings → Storage
- Sort by size
- Identify large files
- Delete or optimize
Optimize Images
- Compress before uploading
- Use appropriate dimensions
- Convert to efficient formats (WebP)
AI Generation Limits

What Uses AI
Each of these counts as 1 generation:
- Magic Write new content
- Improve existing text
- Translate content
- Expand or condense
Generation Reset
Limits reset:
- On monthly billing date
- At midnight UTC
- Counter shows remaining
At Your Limit
When you've used all generations:
- AI features disabled
- Manual writing still works
- Wait for reset or upgrade
API Rate Limits

Handling Rate Limits
- Implement exponential backoff
- Cache responses when possible
- Batch operations where feasible
- Monitor usage via dashboard

Webhook Usage
Each unique webhook endpoint counts:
- One per tag is common
- Share endpoints to reduce count
- Delete unused webhooks
Usage Alerts
Setting Up Alerts
Get notified before hitting limits:
- Go to Account → Notifications
- Enable Usage Alerts
- Set thresholds (e.g., 80%, 90%)
- Choose notification channel
Alert Types
- Approaching limit - 80% threshold
- Near limit - 95% threshold
- At limit - Cannot use more
- Limit reset - Monthly reset notification
Increasing Limits
Upgrade Plan
Move to higher tier for increased limits:
- Free → Pro: Much higher limits
- Pro → Enterprise: Highest limits
Add-On Purchases
Buy extra capacity:
- Additional storage ($5/GB/month)
- Additional tags ($0.99 each)

Contact sales for:
- Custom storage amounts
- Higher API limits

Troubleshooting
Usage Not Updating
- Wait a few minutes
- Refresh the page
- Usage updates may have slight delay
Wrong Usage Shown
- Check if shared org resources
- Verify account email
- Contact support if persistent
Can't Create Despite Limit
If usage shows room but can't create:
- Check for pending operations
- Verify not at secondary limit
- Clear browser cache
